In a Museum Somewhere...

a brontosaurus is missing a leg bone.To say this dog loves to chew is an understatement. She has gnawed through my phone charger, destroyed a book, and taken a bite out of our coffee table. Thankfully, she's gotten better and hasn't chewed anything "forbidden" in quite a while. I'm probably tempting fate even posting that, but so far so good. The first week that we had her she chewed up 5 tennis balls and several rawhide bones. We've since gotten her a Kong bone which she hasn't managed to destroy. Unfortunately, she also doesn't seem to like it much and rarely plays with it (unless we stuff it with peanut butter). Right now we've switched to the rawhide "chips", and she gets one every few days. She generally destroys them in about 5 minutes. Today Chris' aunt showed up with the mother of all rawhide bones.I think Ava might finally have met her match.
Thanks!!

My dog used to be super-chewer when she was young, too. She also didn't like stuff that was *too* hard to chew.

After a few hours of work, Ava managed to get a hole in it about the size of a fist. I give it 1-2 weeks. Maybe double that since we are planning to only let her have it every other day.

We had a bone that was just as long, but twice as thick for our dogs when they were still only 1 pound big lol. That bone lasted a few years until the stupid neighbours dog stole it and ate it :P

Both of our dogs like to chew, but thank goodness they've never chewed anything in the house. Well, Ellie chewed on a DS charger cord once, but I blame that on Lorne since he left it on the floor and she was only a few months old :P AND it looked like licorice ;o)

We also had a dog that destroyed the largest kongs. It was insane!!! We spent so much money on toys and he could wreck them all.
